A private jet from Bangkok to Hong Kong takes about two hours and forty minutes, and the same flight works in both directions. It links two of Asia’s main business centres, both home to ASA offices, and it is short enough to fly out for a morning meeting and be back in Bangkok the same evening. Here is how the route works.

Airports at each end
Bangkok: Don Mueang or Suvarnabhumi
Don Mueang (DMK) is Bangkok’s main business aviation airport and has a dedicated private terminal, which makes departure and arrival quick for passengers coming from the city. Suvarnabhumi (BKK) is the better choice when you are connecting to or from a commercial flight. Both clear customs and immigration for international private flights.
Hong Kong International and the Hong Kong Business Aviation Centre
Private flights into Hong Kong use Hong Kong International Airport at Chek Lap Kok, where passengers are processed through the Hong Kong Business Aviation Centre (HKBAC), a dedicated private terminal with its own customs, immigration and quarantine facilities. HKBAC has recently opened a new terminal as part of an expansion expected to double its handling capacity, and the airport’s three-runway system, commissioned in late 2024, has eased the capacity limits that previously affected business aviation. Slots and parking are still requested in advance and are arranged as part of your booking.
Which aircraft suit Bangkok to Hong Kong
At around 1,690 km, the route sits comfortably within the range of every business jet category, so the choice depends on your group size and how you want to use the time on board.

Light jets for small teams
A light jet seats up to 6 passengers and has a range of around 3,500 km, enough to fly Bangkok to Hong Kong non-stop with plenty in reserve. For two or three executives making a day trip, it is the efficient option.
Midsize jets for a working flight
A midsize jet seats 8 to 10 passengers, with a larger cabin that makes it easier to work, eat and talk privately across a flight of nearly three hours. It suits a board, deal or investor team travelling together.
Super-midsize when the trip continues
If Hong Kong is the first stop on a longer roadshow, onward to Shanghai, Seoul or Tokyo, a super-midsize jet (eight to twelve passengers, around 7,500 km range) keeps the same aircraft and crew for every leg. Tokyo is about 2,900 km from Hong Kong and Seoul about 2,070 km.
A same-day return: how a day trip is planned
A same-day return is one of the main advantages of this route. A typical plan looks like this:
Depart Don Mueang early in the morning and land at Hong Kong before the working day starts, local time (Hong Kong is one hour ahead of Bangkok).
Clear arrival formalities at the business aviation terminal and travel into Central or Kowloon by car.
Hold meetings through the day, with the aircraft and crew waiting at Hong Kong.
Depart Hong Kong in the evening and land back in Bangkok the same night.
Whether a day return fits depends on the crew’s total duty time, which is checked when the flight is quoted. If the day runs long, the alternative is an overnight in Hong Kong with the crew resting and an early return.
What drives the cost on this route
Private charter is priced per aircraft, not per seat. On Bangkok to Hong Kong the main factors are the aircraft category, where the aircraft is based before your flight, whether it waits for a return the same day or overnights in Hong Kong with crew accommodation, airport, handling and parking charges at both ends, and navigation fees. Our guide to private jet charter cost in Asia explains each element in detail.
Permits, slots and handling
As an international flight, Bangkok to Hong Kong needs landing permission for Hong Kong and coordination of slots and parking at Hong Kong International. The departure from Thailand also requires customs and immigration clearance for passengers and crew. We arrange these through our network so you deal with one team. Read more in our guides to landing and overflight permits in Asia and FBOs and private terminals.

We prefer a week’s notice before the departure date to ensure all permits and approvals are in hand. If you need to fly sooner, contact our charter team and we will check whether it is operationally viable at short notice.
Booking through ASA’s Bangkok and Hong Kong offices
ASA Air Charter has arranged private flights across Asia since 1999 and has offices in both Bangkok and Hong Kong (Wan Chai). The ASA Group and its subsidiaries act solely as air charter brokers and do not own, maintain, or operate any aircraft. We compare aircraft across many operators and propose the one that fits your schedule and group.
Before any aircraft is proposed, we confirm the operator’s Air Operator Certificate is valid, that its insurance covers the specific mission, and that it holds any foreign operator permit the route requires.
