Singapore to Bangkok is the most-flown business route in Southeast Asia and one of the shortest genuinely useful private jet sectors in the region. It is comfortably within light jet range, it connects two cities with proper business aviation airports at each end, and it is short enough that the time saved comes almost entirely from the ground rather than the air. Here are the numbers.
The route in figures
| Measure | Figure |
|---|---|
| Great-circle distance, Singapore → Suvarnabhumi (BKK) | 761 nautical miles / 1,410 km |
| Great-circle distance, Singapore → Don Mueang (DMK) | 777 nautical miles / 1,439 km |
| Actual track flown | Typically around 8–9% longer than great-circle, because of airways and airspace |
| Typical private jet block time | Approximately 1 hour 50 minutes |
| Typical commercial non-stop time | 2 hours 25 minutes |
| Commercial frequency | Around 108 flights a week, roughly 15 a day |
The aircraft time difference is modest — about 35 minutes. That is not where the case for chartering this route sits.
Where the time actually comes from
On a sector this short, the flying is the small part. The difference is the ground at both ends, and it comes from three things.
The airports are different. A private charter departs Singapore from Seletar (XSP) rather than Changi, and arrives in Bangkok at Don Mueang (DMK) rather than Suvarnabhumi. Both are the business aviation fields for their cities, both are closer to the centre, and both are built around small numbers of passengers moving quickly. Seletar is around a 20-minute drive from the city; Don Mueang sits close to central Bangkok with direct tollway access.
The process is different. At Seletar, passengers and crew are typically clear of the airport 15–20 minutes after landing. The terminal has four check-in counters and six immigration lanes for a 200-passenger capacity — a scale where queues are not really a concept. Don Mueang’s MJets private jet terminal has on-site immigration and customs within the facility itself.
The schedule is yours. Fifteen commercial departures a day sounds like flexibility until the one you need is at 07:15 or 21:40. A charter departs when the meeting finishes.
The one constraint to plan around
Seletar operates a night curfew from 2200 to 0700 local, with only medical and emergency flights permitted through it. A late departure from Singapore has to move to Changi — subject to slots, which are required there and genuinely constrained for business aviation — or to the following morning. Bangkok’s side of the route does not impose the same limit, so the curfew bites on outbound evening departures specifically.
Which aircraft fly it
At 761–777 nautical miles, this route sits well inside light jet range, which is why most charters on it are flown on light and midsize aircraft. Going larger buys cabin, baggage capacity and comfort rather than materially shorter flight time.
| Category | Typical aircraft | What it buys you on this route |
|---|---|---|
| Light jet | Phenom 300, Citation CJ3 | The efficient answer for up to six or seven passengers with normal luggage |
| Midsize jet | Hawker 800, Learjet 60 | More cabin, more baggage, a standing-height or near-standing cabin on some types |
| Super-midsize | Citation X, Challenger 300 | Comfort and speed margin; useful when the sector is part of a longer day |
| Large cabin | Falcon 7X, Gulfstream G550 | Usually chosen because the trip continues onward, not for this leg alone |
| VIP airliner | Embraer Lineage 1000, Airbus A319, Boeing 737 | Group movements — see below |
One planning note that catches people out on group movements: the ATR 72-600 seats up to 78 but its range at maximum passenger load is roughly 740 nautical miles — shorter than this sector. A full ATR 72 cannot fly Singapore–Bangkok non-stop. For larger parties on this route, the answer is a VIP-configured narrowbody rather than a regional turboprop. See VIP airliner charter.
What drives the cost on this route
We quote this route live rather than publishing a figure — charter pricing moves with season, demand, fuel and events outside aviation. On a sector this short, three things move the number most:
- Positioning. The flying time is under two hours, so the cost of bringing the aircraft to Singapore, and moving it on afterwards, is proportionally larger here than on a long sector. Flexibility on date and time is worth more on short routes, not less.
- Daily minimums. Most operators bill a minimum of around two hours per day the aircraft is committed to you. A 1 hour 50 minute sector is already close to that; a same-day return usually is not billed as two separate short flights.
- Which airports. Handling at Seletar is cheaper than at Changi; fuel runs the other way. Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi differ similarly. The right combination depends on the trip.
Tax applies at both ends — GST in Singapore, VAT in Thailand — and whether a specific charter attracts it depends on how the supply is structured, which is a question for a tax adviser. For the full breakdown of what sits inside a charter price, see private jet charter cost in Asia.
Booking it
ASA Air Charter is an independent broker — the ASA Group and its subsidiaries act solely as air charter brokers and do not own, maintain or operate any aircraft — with offices in both Singapore and Thailand. We compare the licensed operator market and return live market quotes within two hours, and on most Thai routes we can source and confirm aircraft within 2–4 hours.
Before any operator is put forward we require an in-date AOC, a COI covering the specified mission, the AOC Operations Specifications for helicopter missions, and validity of FAOC/FOP where the routing requires it. More on how ASA selects operators.
Our brokers manage permits, overflight approvals, customs clearance and ground handling on your behalf, with on-site supervision for every arrival and departure, and act as one accountable point of contact. Charter specialists are available 24/7.
How much notice to allow
We prefer a week’s notice before the departure date to ensure all permits and approvals are in hand. If you need to fly sooner, contact our charter team and we will check whether it is operationally viable at short notice.

Singapore to Bangkok by private jet — frequently asked questions
How long is a private jet flight from Singapore to Bangkok?
Approximately 1 hour 50 minutes block time, against 2 hours 25 minutes for a typical commercial non-stop. The larger saving is on the ground rather than in the air — business aviation airports at both ends, and a departure time you choose.
How far is Singapore from Bangkok?
761 nautical miles (1,410 km) to Suvarnabhumi and 777 nautical miles (1,439 km) to Don Mueang, measured great-circle. Actual tracks flown typically run around 8–9% longer because of airways and airspace.
Which airports are used for a private charter on this route?
Seletar (XSP) in Singapore and Don Mueang (DMK) in Bangkok are the business aviation fields at each end. Seletar operates a night curfew from 2200 to 0700 local, so a late evening departure has to move to Changi, subject to slots, or to the next morning.
What aircraft is best for Singapore to Bangkok?
The route sits well inside light jet range, so a light jet such as a Phenom 300 or Citation CJ3 is the efficient answer for up to six or seven passengers. Midsize aircraft buy more cabin and baggage capacity rather than materially shorter flight time. For larger parties, a VIP-configured narrowbody is required — a full ATR 72 cannot fly this sector non-stop.
How much does a private jet from Singapore to Bangkok cost?
We quote it live rather than publishing a figure, because the price moves with season, demand, fuel and where the nearest suitable aircraft is starting from. Positioning, daily minimums and airport choice are what move it most. Send us your dates and we will come back within two hours.
